Description
When Pat Fearey set up shop 39 years ago, she was a renegade. In a male-dominated industry she proved it wasn’t about which clubs you belonged to, it was about real relationships and fearless thinking. In the years that followed The Fearey Group became one of the most respected PR firms in the region.
In 2005, Pat hired Aaron Blank. Aaron quickly worked his way up the ranks and in 2012, he took over as president of the agency. On January 1, 2014, Aaron became owner and CEO. He has grown and expanded the firm nationally and globally, primarily through his focus on innovation and quality – and in making sure that The Fearey Group keeps that renegade mentality.
These days, we are driven by two mottos: “Fearless thinking” and “Never eat lunch alone.” We’re found all over town, meeting with reporters, clients, and other influencers and friends, maintaining and building long-lasting relationships that matter. In fact, our mission is to build trusting and enduring relationships, one conversation at a time.

Solutions
At The Fearey Group, we are an extension of our clients’ team. This gives us a thorough understanding of business needs and challenges, allowing us to provide strategic counsel and advice that informs every tactic across the board – from messaging to internal communications to media relations. And it’s how we lay the groundwork for Fearless Thinking. We get to the core of the issue or challenge at hand and get the message out there in ways that are often unique in themselves, garnering even more attention.
What is “Fearless Thinking”? It’s thinking in new ways that shape the future of PR. Like hosting an annual “Surgeon for a Day” event with Swedish Medical Center that allows health enthusiasts and press to scrub-in on a mock brain surgery – and to then share their experience via social media. It’s founding a monthly Social Media Lunch, where Seattle’s business and marketing leaders come to network, learn, and enjoy a meal together at some of the city’s finest and most popular restaurants. It’s creating community – or even founding an entire non-profit – around an issue, like the creation of 501(c)(3) Build the Streetcar and the subsequent campaign that helped Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood welcome the new streetcar system.
